Love Lights Up Legal Firm

There's something in the water at top legal firm GAD LLP, as four couples tie the knot after meeting at work.

Employees at Liverpool and London solicitors, Gregory Abrams Davidson (GAD) LLP, have been caught by the love bug recently. Fellow colleagues have reached for the fascinators and tuxedos not once, but twice with another two sets of nuptials fast approaching.

It speaks volumes for employee job satisfaction at the company; team building and an enjoyable work life is paramount at the established business that provides exceptional client care and with a growing team across the UK.

Married just this month were Christian Evans and Amanda Conlan. Amanda is a Senior Associate in the Commercial and Residential Property Department. Amanda joined GAD LLP in June 2001 as a trainee and qualified as a solicitor in 2003 after completing her training contract at the firm. Christian, Partner and Head of the Personal Injury Department joined the company in 1999 and now specialises in accidents at work and claims for industrial disease. Both Christian and Amanda work at the Liverpool city centre branch of GAD LLP.

Christian explained:
“Of the many feelings you experience at work; satisfaction, frustration, humour, stress, I don't think many people would list love as a likely candidate that they expected to find.

I'd like to say that we set a precedent but the firm has a long history of match making. I arrived as a trainee 12 years ago and within two years I was attending the wedding of two solicitors who had met at the firm.

Since then there have been a number of couples who have met at the firm culminating in three weddings this year and another next year, all involving couples who met at Gregory Abrams Davidson.
When you have a group of like-minded individuals who choose to spend their time together both in and out of work, then there is a strong chance that it may develop into something else.”

In the Liverpool South (Garston) office, Ian Kay – who heads the Personal Injury team – was lucky enough to meet his wife, Gill, at the firm too.  Before joining GAD LLP, Ian lived and worked in Sydney, Australia but he made the right decision joining the Liverpool solicitors, and meeting his lovely wife in the process!

Recently engaged are couples Darren Matthews and Danielle Williams - Darren heads up the Liverpool Speke-Garston office -  and Paul Taylor from the firm’s Accounts Department  and his fiancée; Legal Assistant, Alison Brown.

Partner, Gregory Abrams, said: “We’re delighted for Christian and Amanda on their recent marriage – they are excellent colleagues and a lovely couple.

“With a few more weddings on the way, it makes for an upbeat and happy working environment and we wish them all the very best.”

The Gregory Abrams Davidson LLP name began in 2003, when Liverpool-based Gregory Abrams Solicitors merged with Davidsons Solicitors. With over eight decades of experience between them, the newly formed team was able to reach higher heights of success, and in 2009 acquired London-based commercial and property law specialists, RJR Law.

With offices now in the North West and South East of England, GAD LLP provides legal advice and assistance for Corporate, Personal Injury, Medical Negligence, Family, Media and IP, Environmental, Commercial Property, Private client and Dispute Resolution laws.
