Gregory is very involved in Liverpool life and is highly regarded for his participation in the regeneration and transformation of Liverpool City Centre, in which he has been a driving force since the late 1980s.

Gregory has held a position as governor of King David School for many years and has served as an executive member and President of many Liverpool community foundations and not-for-profit bodies.

Married with five children and one grandson, Gregory's interests outside work are music and travel.
