I have conducted a large variety of Personal Injury cases over the last eight years, from straight forward trips and slips to complicated and high value accidents at work.
One of my clients was injured at work whilst lifting a heavy cage using an electronic hoist. As the cage reached the top of a shaft, our client was required to lean over to pull the cage in. As he did so, one of the hooks gave way under the weight of the cage and our client was pulled away from the platform, although he managed to keep his feet on it. As the cage swung out he suffered an injury to his shoulder. Although he managed to let go of the cage and regain his balance without falling, he also suffered from shock.
My client thought his employer was to blame for his accident because they failed to provide suitable work equipment or a safe system of work. He instructed me to help him make a claim for damages.
I was able to negotiate a settlement before the case went to trial and my client received £25,000 in damages. This amount was for pain and suffering, including psychological problems caused by the accident. It also included financial losses, including his loss of earnings and the costs of medical care.
