Personal Injury

Sports Injury

If you have an accident and suffer an injury whilst playing or watching sport, which was someone else's fault, then you may be entitled to make a personal injury compensation claim.

You should be aware that:

  • Organisers of sporting events have a duty to spectators to make sure that they are safe from injury
  • Participants in sporting activities who are injured through the negligence of an opponent, for example a reckless tackle in a football match, have a right to claim compensation.

The participants in any sport carry some degree of risk of injury by virtue of their acceptance to participate. If your personal injury occurs after a simple trip or fall for no reason, you would not be entitled to make a personal injury compensation claim. In addition, you would not be entitled to make a personal injury compensation claim if your sports injury was caused by a legal tackle from another player.

For advice about your claim, please contact our specialist team who are ready to help or simply start your accident claim by filling in our accident claim form.
