Case Studies

Read how we have helped clients in cases of Personal Injuries.

Christian has taken over cases in which other firms have given the claimant poor prospects of success and have refused to take the matter further. These include the family of a HGV driver in North Wales who tragically died due to the negligence of his Employers.

A previous firm had acted but felt the claim was unwinnable as the Defendants had denied liability and there had been no witnesses to the accident. We issued proceedings, persuaded the Defendants to attend a mediation and managed to negotiate a settlement in excess of £100,000.

In another case, a claimant from London received over £50,000 in damages and costs after the claimant had instructed to earlier firms without success. We also ensured the Defendants Insurers paid for the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Shoulder Surgery at a private Hospital.

Christian recently secured over £20,000 for a painter & decorator who broke his arm falling off a ladder. The client was so delighted with how his case had been handled he referred his friend who had only been offered £4700.00 for a similar injury. We took over conduct of the case and managed to treble the offer.

Ian has conducted a large variety of Personal Injury cases over the years, from straight forward trips and slips to complicated and high value accidents at work.

One of Ian’s clients was injured at work whilst lifting a heavy cage using an electronic hoist. As the cage reached the top of a shaft, our client was required to lean over to pull the cage in. As he did so, one of the hooks gave way under the weight of the cage and our client was pulled away from the platform, although he managed to keep his feet on it. As the cage swung out he suffered an injury to his shoulder. Even though he was able let go of the cage and regain his balance without falling, he also suffered from shock.

The client thought his employer was to blame for his accident because they failed to provide suitable work equipment or a safe system of work. He instructed Ian to help him make a claim for damages.

This amount was for pain and suffering, including psychological problems caused by the accident. It also included financial losses, including his loss of earnings and the costs of medical care.

Another one of our clients suffered multiple leg fractures after tripping in a Supermarket. She attempted to pursue the matter herself. However after running into difficulties, she researched personal injury solicitors extensively, before instructing our Expert and Partner, Christian Evans.

We were able to rescue the claim despite difficult and obstructive defendants. We managed to secure her £150,000 which helped her purchase a 4x4 to allow her to enjoy her small holding.

Compensation Award of £1,540.00 obtained for Claimant A, who was riding his bike one evening when the Defendant opened his car door without any warning knocking him off his bike and causing an injury.

Compensation Award of £6,735.00 received for Claimant B, who was knocked down by a driver. While out walking with young daughter in her pushchair, she began to cross the road with the aid of a lollipop man the vehicle came from around the corner and collided with her. Fortunately, the child was not harmed in the accident.

Criminal Injuries Compensation Award in the amount £9,600.00 for Claimant C, who was attacked by an unknown assailant upon returning home, following post work drinks with colleagues. As she approached the gate of her property she was assaulted in her front garden. Claimant sustained a broken nose which subsequently resulted in loss of smell and some loss of taste. Initially, this application was refused twice, at which point Gregory Abrams Davidson represented her at a Tribunal Hearing, where she was successfully awarded compensation.
